Odoo 19 brings major improvements to the Field Service module, making it smarter, faster, and easier to use.
These updates are especially valuable for companies that work on-site — such as installation, maintenance, or repair businesses — where time, coordination, and accuracy matter most.
Let’s take a look at the main updates below.
Project and Task
You can now mark a project as a template before using it, keeping your setup safe from accidental changes. Task templates are also new — they let you predefine details like priority levels and tags so recurring or similar jobs are faster to create and more consistent. Roles can be assigned directly in these templates, allowing Odoo to automatically link the right employees to each task when new projects are generated.
Hide Unit Price on Reports
A new Hide Unit Price feature has been added, also configurable in the setting of the project. This is for companies that don’t want to display product prices on the worksheet reports shared with clients.

Smarter Geolocation, Route Optimization & Mobile Workflow
Field operations are now smarter and more connected. When enabled in project settings, Odoo automatically logs a technician’s GPS coordinates in the chatter whenever they start or stop their timer. This adds transparency to time tracking and helps verify timesheet accuracy by confirming each technician’s location.

The Map View has been enhanced to cluster tasks by area and reorder them for optimized travel routes, making daily itinerary planning faster and more efficient.
Technicians can also now manage their entire workflow directly from the mobile app — starting and stopping timers, recording both travel and work time automatically, logging on-site material usage, uploading before-and-after photos, and capturing digital customer signatures. Once assigned a task, they can also open the route directly in the app and navigate to the customer site with integrated map and itinerary guidance.
Views Improvements One of the biggest improvements is in how tasks are scheduled and visualized:
Gantt View:
- In the Planning view, weekends are hidden by default, collapsing the empty columns to give managers a cleaner weekday schedule.
- Improved drag & drop with an undo button appearing immediately after a move — removing fear of mistakes, especially in dynamic scheduling.
- Gantt view is also available on the portal, so if you’re sharing your project with external users, they can easily access and follow the project timeline directly from their own portal.
Kanban View:
- Tasks now include a 3-star priority system, so it’s easy to see which jobs are more urgent. You can also quickly assign tasks and see subtasks directly within the Kanban cards, improving task visibility.

Other Field Service Updates:
Subcontracted services purchase orders are now ungrouped by default, making it easier to send individually instructions to your supplier. You can also view the purchase orders directly from the dashboard for quicker access to key information.
Graphs are now clickable in the reporting, allowing for smoother navigation and data exploration.
Now, when a product is configured to create a task from an appointment, a task is automatically generated once the appointment is confirmed. The assigned user, appointment details, and scheduled time are all carried over automatically — making the process smoother and more connected.
Seamless Integration with Sales and Projects In Odoo 19, service products can now be configured to automatically create Field Service tasks (or even full projects with tasks) when a Sales Order is confirmed. This means that as soon as a sale is validated, the corresponding job appears in Field Service — ready to be scheduled and assigned.
As the work progresses:
- Materials used on tasks are automatically deducted from inventory.
- Time logged is recorded in timesheets for accurate tracking.
- Once the task is marked complete, it automatically moves to the “To Invoice” stage for billing.
This process eliminates the need to manually copy details between spreadsheets, Field Service, and invoicing — everything is seamlessly connected, saving time and reducing errors.
In conclusion, Odoo 19 brings a smoother, more connected experience to Field Service. With faster planning, mobile tools, and better automation, managing on-site work is easier than ever.
